A devotional by Reverend Dr. Kevin Schwamb
Recently, there have been a number of incidents which have gone viral portraying acts of violence and injustice. The videos, often captured by amateurs, have been both graphic and disturbing. But at the same time, these videos have brought to light behaviors and attitudes that must be addressed. Many people today are concerned over the possibility that their actions may end up going viral and be shared with millions.
In the gospel of Mark, Jesus says something very interesting when he states, “For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.” These words are in reference to the nature of the coming kingdom of God and the ministry of Jesus Christ who reveals what lies hidden in the heart. Both the Word of God and the coming kingdom of God will bring to light what is presently hidden from others.
Therefore, since no sinful action or attitude can be hidden from God, we should daily confess our sins to Him and seek to address it now rather than later, when its too late. If we think that we can hide anything from God, we are only fooling ourselves. The Scriptures warned us that a day is coming when everything will go viral before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
