A devotional by Reverend Dr. Kevin Schwamb
FedEx and UPS are facing a problem that some businesses would love to have, they are struggling to keep up with the holiday demand. Between Thanksgiving and the end of December, analysts say that UPS will handle over 700 million packages. FedEx is experiencing a 10% increase in the number of packages it processed over last year. Efforts are underway to meet the demand, but both companies have suspended some delivery guarantees and stopped promising that all express packages will reach their destination on time.
I am so glad that God’s promises are never suspended or retracted, especially when it comes to delivering us from our sins. In Galatians 4:4 we find these words, “But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive the full rights of sons.” Paul is saying that Jesus Christ entered our world, fully God and fully man, at precisely the right moment in history to bring about our rescue from sin and death.
In a world where guaranteed delivery is no longer a promise we can count on, it is a source of great joy to know that God always delivers on His promises!
